Tai Chi for Balance
Bob Crane Community Center
New to Tai Chi? This welcoming 8-week series is the perfect place to begin! Explore the gentle, meditative movements of Taiji (Tai Chi) while building balance, strength, and body awareness through mindful movement and breathing.
Led by Lori Boldman, this class introduces participants to the Tai Chi 64 form, learning eight movements that build upon one another throughout the series. Each week, you’ll learn the next movement in the sequence and develop skills you can continue practicing on your own.
Whether you’re completely new to Tai Chi or looking to reconnect with a regular mind-body practice, you’ll be encouraged to move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Chairs may be used throughout class for added stability and support, making the practice accessible to different abilities and experience levels.
Research suggests that Tai Chi may offer a variety of health benefits, including improved balance, reduced back and knee pain, and better quality of life for people living with chronic health conditions.
This class is an ideal introduction before committing to the full 64-movement sequence offered in our Monday evening classes.
Instructor: Lori Boldman
Format: In person at OSU Integrative Health or virtually via Zoom
Please note: This is an 8-week progressive series. Each class builds on the previous session, so regular attendance is encouraged.
