Over  the past decade, interest in using passive sorbent samplers to measure  VOCs in ambient air and soil gas has increased significantly with a  growing number of projects relying on passive samplers to support site  investigations.  While field deployment of passive sorbent samplers is  straightforward and largely immune to missteps, developing a project  plan using passive samplers can be overwhelming due to unfamiliarity  with the technology and concern about regulatory acceptance.  

This  webinar will provide the practitioner with a practical guide on the use  of passive samplers for a variety of air monitoring projects.  Topics  the presentation will cover include:

Heidi  Hayes,

Technical Director,

Eurofins

Heidi  Hayes is the Technical Director at Eurofins Air Toxics in Folsom,  California.  Ms. Hayes has a MS in Chemistry from the Colorado School of  Mines in Golden, CO, and over 27 years in the environmental laboratory  industry designing and testing new analytical methods with the last 24  years at Eurofins Air Toxics.  She currently oversees the testing of new  media, protocols, and technology related to air phase analysis. 

Over  the last 12 years, Ms. Hayes’ research has concentrated on the  effectiveness of passive sampling techniques to collect time-integrated  VOC measurements in ambient air.  In this effort, she has collaborated  on EPA and industry-funded projects designed to evaluate and compare  passive technologies to conventional air methods.
