Join us for the Interior Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve (AHSOR) Training: Gathering Knowledge and Strengthening Connections, a two-and-a-half-day learning and networking event taking place October 14–16, 2026, at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Grand Okanagan Resort in Kelowna, BC. Participants will engage in interactive sessions, collaborative learning opportunities, and meaningful discussions focused on strengthening program delivery, promoting traditional wellness, and fostering connections among AHSOR communities throughout the Interior Region.

Two participants per AHSOR program are welcome to register. We encourage programs to send new and existing front-line staff, with particular focus for those who are newer to the role, as they will benefit most from the practical learning opportunities, knowledge sharing, and connections fostered throughout this two-and-a-half-day gathering.

Meals and Refreshments

Breakfast will be available each day from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. A morning nutrition break will be provided daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.

Lunch will be served from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on October 14 and 15. An afternoon break will also be provided from 2:45 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on these two days.

On October 16, a grab-and-go lunch will be available beginning at 12:30 p.m. for participants to take with them as they depart following the training.

All other meals, including dinners, will be the responsibility of the participants. Eligible meal expenses will be reimbursed upon submission of a completed travel claim, in accordance with FNHA travel reimbursement guidelines.

FNHA will cover accommodations and provide travel reimbursement only for participants who attend the full training and are present for all scheduled training sessions from October 14–16, 2026.

FNHA will cover accommodation for three nights: Tuesday, October 13; Wednesday, October 14; and Thursday, October 15. Any additional accommodation costs incurred before or after these dates will be the responsibility of the participant's AHSOR program.

Please note, FNHA will reimburse mileage for one vehicle per AHSOR program, so carpooling is highly suggested.

*Please note that travel arrangements should not be booked until your registration has been confirmed. A confirmation email will be sent once your registration has been reviewed and approved. *

To help reduce waste, we ask that participants bring their own reusable water bottle for refills throughout the training. Please note that this is a scent-free event. We kindly request that participants refrain from wearing scented products, including perfumes, colognes, and scented lotions, to help ensure a comfortable environment for everyone.
